Five Brand Favorites
Whether it’s because of their style, what they represent, or even simply what they provide, certain brands stand out to all of us. Below are our current top five. We’d love to hear yours in the comments below!

The Company: The Normal Brand
Why: If you bump into me on the weekend, chances are high you’ll see me rocking something from this St. Louis based clothing company. I was definitely late to the party, learning about Normal Brand back in November, but now I’m all aboard. Stemming from their story and “why,” they have an incredible cohesion between their comfortable, versatile and durable clothes and the actions they take as a family run business. The only downside - their logo is slightly reminiscent of the Baylor Bear around these parts, though thankfully it hasn’t been confused for it yet.
My current favorite: A brown, waxed canvas hat. It’s awesome.

The Company: Shinola
Why: A watch company that has supported not only their employees, but the people of Detroit. Their influence in the city runs deep - they give back to the community through nonprofit work and recently extended their presence to both bike manufacturing and the hotel business. Each extension has brought more jobs and more income to Detroit. I love the look of their watches, as well as their commitment to not only American jobs, but specifically their city.
My current favorite: A custom blue faced Runwell Jessica gave me for our first anniversary.

The Company: Mackenzie-Childs
Why: My mother-in-law and sister-in-law introduced me to this amazing company a few years back. We now take a yearly trip to their infamous Barn Sale every year, where we fight hundreds of others for the most gorgeous hand-painted kitchenware and household items. I absolutely love not only the patterns, but the history behind the company and how they still hand-paint pieces in the barn.
My current favorite: The Taylor plates are to die for. I can’t wait to add to our collection come June.

The Company: Madewell
Why: The second clothing brand on this list, but this one is for us ladies. Madewell has a great selection of fashion with a fun style behind them. What stands out though are their quality and comfort. I can always depend on the quality to be the same, each time I buy a pair of my favorite jeans.
My current favorite: Their black jeans. They fit and look great!

The Company: Magnolia Record Club
Why: We have long been obsessed with the talented Drew and Ellie Holcomb. If you haven’t heard their music yet, pull up Spotify immediately. When we heard that they had started a monthly record club in order to spotlight their own favorite bands, we knew we wanted in. Besides the fantastic records we get every month (thanks Lohren!) the branding is spot on, from the branded box your record comes in to the actual record itself, often a unique color or design.
Our current favorite: the joint release of Goodbye Road by JohnnySwim and Drew Holcomb.
